Mission Statement and Values

Paul Jones

My objective is to help committed and dedicated students satisfy their thirst for exploring politics, political history, and political issues. I aim to promote a love and understanding of politics through rigorous analysis and discussion.

I want my students to develop an appreciation of freedom of thought and expression and use that to engage with the complexities and subtleties of A-level politics. I want to equip them with the skills and confidence to successfully tackle complex questions independently and robustly.

Whether you are just starting A-level politics or need to refine your understanding of it, I am here to guide you on the path to intellectual diversity and academic success.

Teaching you not what to think but how to think.

 Values

  • Integrity: I teach in accordance with the values of classical liberalism, not with the latest ideological trends of the day. Logic and evidence are key. I am committed to academic rigour and encourage my students to value academic integrity.
  • Dedication: I am dedicated to my subject and my students share the same passion. I value my students as individuals and their progress is my priority.
  • Freedom: This program is about having freedom to explore issues and interests which perhaps cannot be addressed within the classroom. It is about having the freedom, curiosity and desire to engage in ideas and reading beyond that which your school is likely to offer.
  • Tenacity: Life is full of successes but sometimes we face disappointments. I am here to help you reach your academic potential so you can pick yourself up and achieve your goals.
