Other Services

Whilst teaching and tutoring from Key Stage Three to A-level are my main activities, I am always eager to engage in other work and projects, whether that be coursework supervision or contributing to a publication or school assembly.

From A-level coursework on early modern witchcraft to undergraduate assignments on modern warfare, I have supported students working on a wide range of historical research projects. My approach is to help students establish the parameters of their project, develop a suitable structure and provide guidance on potential reading and leads. From there, I help students refine and sharpen their arguments by providing feedback on draft essays. My intention is to work with students so they can gradually build a strong essay which hits the requisite assessment objectives.

Alongside supervising students’ projects, I am engaged in my own research and writing projects. My original academic interests centred on the English Civil Wars, Royalism and the printing press. My doctoral thesis examined the nature of Royalism and the various strategies used by Royalist writers from c.1637 to 1646. I have explored other issues related to the printing press in two research papers. In more recent years, I have become an occasional contributor to The Daily Sceptic and have had several articles published there.

The nature of my work means my own academic interests fuse with aspects of schools’ pastoral agendas. This means that I have produced and delivered assemblies on significant events, such as Remembrance Day and Holocaust Memorial Day.

If you are a student interested in coursework support or are a professional looking for someone to collaborate with on an assembly or publication, please get in touch.
